I was in the Op shop recently and I spied this book in the cabinet. It brought back school day memories. My old Biology teacher Mr McKie used to quote from Omar Khayyam, the 12th century Persian poet, mathematician, astronomer.
The following quote resonates with me to this day.
The following quote resonates with me to this day.
Me thinks Omar was trying to tell us something about the dangers of Twitter, Facebook et al!
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyam, 1859
