astral projection - shameless plug

I like unusual art forms and I especially like my son's most recent work involving projections. He completed a piece of work recently for The Melbourne Fringe Festival - Insomnia Cat Come To Stay. The reviews in the Age and the Sun were quite good, so that's a bit exciting.
His part of the show involves old school hand drawn images in a stop animation.
Its on until the 8th Oct so catch it if you can.

I was right at home back in the day with peace, love and the whole damn thing so its a bit of a surprise to have my son and his cousin( The Ovals) reprising and reinventing all things psychedelic.
Tom's projections at live music venues are gathering a bit of interest around the traps. He has a low tech approach to his visuals and creates all manner of wonderful patterns and effects using overhead projectors and other equipment from eras past.

He has a facebook page Astral Projection to inform interested parties of upcoming events and his contact details are on the info page.

want...need

The animal print obsession continues. My wishlist goes for pages on shopbop, topshop, ASOS, you name it.
These are my ♥'s on shopbop.

Rag & Bone feather print  - want.

 Rebecca Taylor dress - need

How could I go past Equipment - Spotted Hyde Brett blouse,

or these other two Equipment shirts?????

I have my eye on this trinket from House of Harlow. It might have to be included in the parcel...

I'm happy about...

Loving the sun in Melbourne at the moment - not so keen on the wind.

Oh joy to receive a tiny parcel from Canada - those chunky rings have landed.
When you can't have the real thing sometimes you just have to go for effect.

My other fashion obsession lately has been leopard print - in shoes, shirts and scarves. I succumbed to the shoes.
I wanted these ones from ASOS so bad but they didn't have my size.
I went for these ones from Walnut - they are so comfortable I'm wearing them even when I shouldn't.

Those bees are working overtime on the blossom.

Wisteria always means Winter is over.

I love a good scary model pic...

 I'd back off bucko!

These collar tips from ASOS will look just dandy on my silk shirt.
Going for the look of this Zara shirt.

Winery splendour

On Sunday, lunch at Port Phillip Estate seemed like a good idea - sure beats cleaning the winches on the boat.

The architecture is arresting and has won several awards.  A rammed earth facade presents to the road in a long windowless sweep. The entrance has a sense of drama about it. You have to go there just to experience it.
There is a Cellar Door Bistro with wine tasting and informal dining. Just what we wanted. But I would love to return and have a meal in the Dining Room with food prepared by Simon West. The restaurant has recently been awarded a chef's hat in The Age Good Food guide.

The Kooyong Chardonnay was full and round and the Sauvignon Blanc was the pick of the day.

There is a tasting fee which is redeamable on the purchase of a bottle of wine.

The warm chocolate brownie with ganache and rhubarb ice cream was superb.

.
Port Phillip Estate is on Red Hill Road at Melway 191 G2.

I'm happy about...

Melbourne town is still dishing up weather fit for boots and jeans so the ankle boots are still doing it for me. And if my Stockholm muse over at carolinesmode is anything to go by then my Witchery suede Isabel Marant lookalikes can rock it as Summer boots as well.

My Witchery boots are going to have a great price per wear ratio. And I probably won't wear my skirt quite as short as this one. But otherwise I'll be identical.

A rare outfit post - they're not my strong suit...
The grey burnout tshirt is from Seed femme, the leather jacket is from Sportsgirl and the necklace was gifted from my daughter from her days working in the accessories world.

Also making me happy this week has been gathering some inspiration for friendship  bracelets.

I like the colours in this one.

This aztec style could work.

and the colours in this dress make a good combination. Now I just have to get my niece into action on the making.

These loafers are on my leopard short list. Tan or black shorts and a tee - it could work..

Loving my cup and saucer set from Ezibuy - that Deborah Hutton knows what she's doing.

that ring

I've been waiting for shopbop to restock the Elizabeth and James Birdclaw ring and its back. This time I didn't miss the boat.  It's a little bit fierce but in a nice way.
I sometimes load up both hands with heaps of rings and this look from carolinesmode is aspirationally fantastic.  Those YSL rings in lapis and coral set my heart a flutter but how to get the look without taking out a mortgage?
Well here's the thing - I found some similar rings at thechainsoflove and I was delighted to find this Canadian company post to Australia. They will probably take a while to get here. Hope its worth the wait.

I'm happy about...

My fav artist Ghostpatrol, has collaborated with board shapers Atboardz to produce this cool surfboard - love it , but I need the snow skis please.

I've been doing a little style stalking lately to enter a competition. It was a no win for me in the competition but I realised that Copenhagen street style is very pleasing to me.
